I have a tiretrack eel in a 250 liter that I’ve had for about three years now, and he seems to be doing well, but plants and other fish not so much. I wonder if it’s because of the lack of microfauna? Is there a way I can correct this?

I have to add, just as info, all my tanks is pretty natural planted tanks with proper substrate, plants, driftwood, rocks and proper filtration...
