A lot of the old members will remember me.
As addictive as Fishkeeping was, I managed to be "cured" few years ago and put all my effort into building a company.
However, I could never forget about the hobby, but as I promised my wife, I stayed away.

Now in my "old" age, and having moved to KZN to prepare for retirement, I am ready to take up the hobby again.
A small change I am thinking about is to change to a Local Marine setup.

My name is Ryan, based in Durbanville. Together with my son, we have a 350L freshwater tank, our first. Cycling finished a month ago and our cleanup crew, Orange Venezuelan Cories and Ottos have effectively cleared out the algae, water parameters are great and we are now slowly adding more fish - so far 8 silver tipped tetras.

Hoping to learn a lot from this forum.

i started out with a few small planted terrariums and now ive moved on to a small starter aquarium with some shirmps and guppies and tetras.

Wanted to know from other members that sell livestock from their homes, how do you do it in terms of packaging?
Do you purchase plastic bags and oxygen bottles or do you get your customers to come in with a container?

Luckily I could still remember my old logins.

So, in 2021 I sold and gave away everything I had. I decided to start again. So I got a 50L of marketplace with a few accessories for a great bargain.

Based on the East rand, Have set up my first tank after many years of wanting to do it.

Doesn't look to special now just have some random drift wood and rocks. Tank has been running for 3 weeks, but had a seeded filter from the previous owner.

Weekly water tests are perfect.

Based in Joburg, I used to breed guppy's/tetras in high school as a hobby but life took over and I haven't touched a tank in over a decade.

I'm back in after coming across a few videos on the Walstad/dirty tank method and picking up a new interest in aquascaping. When I was in primary school, we kept a 60l tank with tetras and loaches and danios, but when my dad got a 1,2m tank, the 60l went to the garage after holding an out of control population of guppies (as it happens).

Been keeping fish for almost 5 years i would say, took a liking in natural tanks and like scaping with my limited knowledge and experience.

Have 3 tanks for myself, a 420l with Malawi's, 400l that needs fish and a 300l again with Malawis.

Then my daughter has 15 tanks for breeding and a 75l for display in her room. I scaped her 75 one Sunday morning just for fun.
