Lake Malawi cichlids breeding "season"

Forgot to update this thread.

The brickwork background was looking boring to my SO so she decided to get a white one, then didn't like the look of that so got dark blue spray paint and got me to spray it. Now I see a black can of spray paint on my kitchen counter so I'm guessing that black is the new thought. It's amazing how much she has latched on to my hobby from being totally against it at first. I think it's all about the babies though, according to her they are hers, according to my daughter the big fish are hers so where does that leave me exactly... Perhaps just the maintenance guy.

Yes I agree. And it looks like they are calmer. Tank just looks a little dark now. Thinking of adding more lights but that will just mean more algae hahaha

 

It does in person. Basically the light does not reflect like it did with the white and grey. Think I just need to get used to it

 

Exactly my thoughts. Incoming marine project haha saw someone post a 1m X 600 with accessories for the equivalent of R10k. Maybe will have a look at it and see

Did some stripping today.

First time mummy red zebra 40+ fry, Some of them have red eyes, maybe under developed. Never really heard of albino in this species



Female Kenyi on her second batch, 20+ fry this is definitely the biggest in terms of size i had got, they are almost ready to join the rest of the fry

 

I honestly lost count. I seen the bigger ones chomp on the smaller ones so there have been some losses, but still over 100 in the tank, and these in the breeder box currently

 

No they staying in here LOL
