    Howzit.

The rock is synthetic. I bought it off the shelf at my LFS.

@Lowflyer, I was reading through this thread again this morning and two things stuck out

You say above that you dosing Stability with water change

If I may ask, how long has the tank been running and what dechlorinator are you using?

Cool then I have no clue what would peg your fish - mostly if you do the water prep thing then it is temp or TDS swings.

Hi guys. So I had a change of heart... No just kidding. I had a tank cycling in my wife's classroom and we were trying to decide what fish to put in it. After much discussion, I convinced her to take the angels and the Neons to work. They have been in since Sunday and are as happy as a pig in poo.

Now my 2foot planted aquarium has become a livebearer tank with swords, mollies and plates (2 of each) and the two loaches. This is how I want to keep it and let the foliage grow some more for the coming sword tail babies which are on the way.

    Looks very nice @Lowflyer7 ,

Don't you use some floating plants for the babies to hide in?

Yes I agree - please explain why you are dosing with stability when doing a w/c - stability is NOT a dechlorinator so you may be adding chlorine to the tanks if you doing w/c's straight from your tap water! Seachem Prime is the one to use for chlorine and chloramine removal in water being preped for w/c's

This is true...but if I remember correctly,,, the instructions on Stability says its good to dose during water changes also. I wouldn't think Stability will cause too much harm but more of a waste if ur tank is cycled properly already.

To answer your question, I only dosed with Stability as it explained on the bottle it would be a good idea at each water change to add half a capful. I first treated the water with a water conditioner to remove all chlorine and heavy metals etc then put stability straight into the tank.

So I created a thread about my one mollie dying. All the other fish are thriving and no signs of stress. My ancistrus and livebearers enjoyed a piece of blanched baby marrow, which I'm happy about as it's my first time feeding vegetables to fish :D

This is what I've done to try and combat the temperature.

I am glad you havent lost anymore and everyone is doing well

The bristlenoses love their veggies, I also used to feed cucumber and babymarrow for most of the time as my clown loaches and my flagtail love it but, then I saw @DoubleDutch feeding the whole vegetable garden to his and I have also tried and introduced red peppers and broccoli and they love it too

How is your water temperature doing now?
Are you winning with what you have done?

    Thanks @MariaS

THE temp kind of stays at 28 degrees at the moment. I'm still looking at fitting a fan to cool the water.

Do I blanch the red pepper as well?

So the fan mod brought the temp down from 29 to 25 in a few hours yesterday. Will be interesting to see what the temp is when I get home as it is a scorture today!

Totally interested in this answer... Durban today is miserably hot and my tanks were 30 when I got home at 2 today... I floated an ice bottle but from 11 to 2 the poor fish must have been swearing at me

Yus that is hectic. Today was incredible humid and hot here in East London, and normally my tank would be around 29 degrees, but got home to a tank running at a cool 25 degrees :D
