1 Year Guppy Challenge Cilffy

ok so i got my "breeding" tank made and out side for that nice hot weather we are just not getting
It has been cold here (over night )and i been battling to maintain water temperature
one thought is to wrap the tank at night with cardboard (the nice thick brown box stuff)
any one got a better idea ?

 

Using a cheap foil cold blanket when the container is standing on the ground - it does keep in some of the earth's heat when you wrap the container.

But the guuppies can withstand some very low temperatures - they will just grow slower.

So on Saturday one female drop some fry 18 of them I know who the daddy is( I think i do ) and that is the one I had hope for I have to check my photos to be sure I will also complete my guppies family tree and post that as well
I am sorry that most of my photo are not of the best quality but I am trying to my best with what I have

I still don't have a good pic of the last male and female I try to get them to night
I still need to up load the profiles of 3 Females I think ...thing are so scattered now

 

ok so done a test run and had some hicups

having a problem with the female that don't live long a week or so after they dropped the fry ....
the modified tank was just to small....got some free tanks and equipment (thanks John and Shorty)
the whole plan got shot to hell with the deaths of my half black females ...On with Plan B then

It seems that my male is shifting blanks
Grrrr restart ? Or use the the orange tail line ..........

 

How old is he?

 

Not even 8 months I think

 

Grr no laptop so no PIC update

 

So the 3 females from first dorp i got 37 fry about 2 weeks back

So thy growing out for now

Looks like things are getting there.

You should get some microworm or banana, makes a big difference in growth rate.

 

Yes I would like to but can't find a local supply

ok first a few things have changed

got all the tanks in one room lined up so the males are first of the 2foot tanks next one is the breeding and then the female grow out tank (green water ) more to come

first batch of male guppies for the one year guppy challenge ,they are what was left after two rounds of selections / culling (please note the culled are live and well in my pond as i want to see if the rejected could still give me the same end result if they where left to do there thing )

first batch of female guppies for the one year guppy challenge ,they are what was left after two rounds of selections there are more females as all most 90% of the fry droped where male
so i am just waitting to see who of the guppies will make the grade and carry there genes to the next batch
