Always keep wood. Eventually you'll find use for it

Agreed about the wood, i tried a few things i pushed it into the corner and pushed the rocks closer, i think i will give that a try with plants and decide from there if it will stay or go. Some updated pics

    Looks very nice.

Sorry if you already mentioned this - did you wash the pfs before adding to your tank?

    @Ammar ,

    That looks nice

You can also try move the rocks on the right a bit forward like they were before and the tree behind them towards the corner

@MariaS make sense to fill up that front area a bit. Im thinking of getting a bit more rock to add to that side. Hardscape ia starting to cost me a bit more than i budgeted lol.

Should be getting lights this weekend. Still need to build trickle filter, probably also this weekend.

Lol I'm not sure. Haven't used pfs before. Planning on doing so on my tanks. Moving them soon then will. From what I read you need to. Let me know how it goes when filling water.

Maybe other members have some experience?

A lot depends on the source, sometimes all that is needed is a BIG WC after a first fill with a bit of a gravel vacuum. Then just run a coke bottle polisher ( coke bottle, pump and some batting) - things clear up ok normally.

He he .. think you need to stop with the scaping and start adding some water ... can always add more hardscape later.

LOL @f-fish shows my ignorance and inexperience. I used PFS on a 3 foot before and as you said needed to do 1 majoe water change and had o change all filter media as all got clogged up.
my issue is that i have not build my filter yet so filling it up is not an option yet. unless i get myself a couple internal filters to keep the water from frotting up. I want to plant this weekend, im trying my luck at a half day from work today to try and get most my stuff sorted out. lights and filter at least. @AmithS I will post pics soon as I fill it up and give you feedback on how bad it is. i think it will be bad because it was a bit dusty when i was laying the sand.

a easy while you wait is just do a polisher - could probably even use the pump you wanted to use for the drip filter.
    upload_2017-11-4_13-26-38-png.png

This was nov 2017 ... so that tank looks a bit different but I use this with all most each major rescape.

Bad idea ... you need the job for the addiction - save the day for when things go pear.

ok holdon i see what you've done there!!! i initially though you had pool sand in there lol!! so its just filterwool in a bottle!! very clever
next question is.. would it not be easier to plant with a half full tank? especially for me as the tank is very deep! and im rather on the short side!!!

Correct .. batting in a bottle stuck on the intake of your pump .. just add something so that the batting does not end in the impeller.

1/2 full is fine ... might be easier to move stuff around.

Looking good .. ja a 2m tank is no jokes - huge respect for giving a planted tank a go on such a scale ... glad to see she is holding her water, always an important stage ;-)

ha ha ...now that is a lekker water polisher, nice thing about having too many plants - you do not need to plant them all - oh and gives you a good reason to allow MTS back into the room.

Haha yes, i convinced the wife to go for a shrimp tank and maybe discus in the near future but i have to research those first. A bit intimidated by them at the moment.

Btw should i add some charcoal to that polisher or do u think this is fine? I have a 2000L / hour pump in there.
