Sorry @A new day if this is a hijack, what to do if there's some bowing? (maybe a noob question)

    1) Check that your insurance covers water damage ... well this is really a biggy if you have any sizable tank ;-)
    2) Drop the water level till things look better - can you live with that.
    3) Assess how bad it is - on some 3ft tanks with thin glass it is just not worth the risk So I run them with a 5cm below brim level
    4) I read a rule of thumb once - it was something like the bowing should not be more than a 1/4 of the glass thickness - well something like that - I go with if I see it means I do not like it so fix it.

Wow! Very nice! If I may ask, how deep is your substrate from back to front?

    Thanks @Lowflyer7
The two back corners are about 12cm deep if I remember correctly, banked up with stone. Middle back about 5-6cm?
Substrate right in front is probably 3cm or so.

Still building up the planting, added more emersed growth and floaters.

Also my Asian water fern (bolbitis heteroclita) which I find significantly more difficult to grow than its African cousin. Almost fully transitioned to submerged growth now but it took a really long time...

Thank you. I think I may be having problems with my root tabs due to shallow substrate.

PS, your 1.5m is my new favourite setup on TASA!

2x Zetlight Aqua (the model without wifi contoller)
    https://zetlight.com/aqua-series-freshwater-p00121p1.html

Note: not officially recommended for this tank size BUT it is a low energy system with mostly low light tolerant plants submerged, plus relatively shallow at 40cm.

    Okay, so 16 Watts.

Thanks for that. It gives a really cool natural (shaded pool) look:thumbup:

PS @Lowflyer7 I’m also giving it a really long photoperiod of 12 hours plus, which isn’t a good thing to do with intense light. I’ll also have to keep on top of trimming the emersed growth and thinning out floating plants to allow enough light through to the bottom. I expect very fast growth at and above the water surface. It’s a bit of a gamble but we’ll see how it goes and adjust where necessary :)

This tank is going to look epic after a month or 2. Just spend some time reading through the whole thread and it was well worth the wait.

    Big ups @A new day
