I reckon most of those eggs are becoming darker?

Looks like it yeah, probably fertilised. They'll often move them to a different spot, so don't be dismayed if they disappear. Or, sometimes during the wiggler stage (another day or two). :)

    Hey @A new day
This tank looks so beautiful, such a nice ecosystem. What shrimp do you have in this tank?

Hey thanks @Radesh they’re amano shrimp, only thing that will last with these fish as they are quite a bit larger. There are a few cull neocaridina as well but I hardly see them and they are heavily predated upon in this tank

mmmm, so the old cichlid tank is now a plant nursery tank with all the cuttings etc
I have ghost shrimp in there and some are quite big, like double the size of the blue and tiger shrimp in my planted tank.
So i am wondering if I should put a pair of RAMS in the nursery tank as well?

Yes a pair of rams or apistos perhaps.
With german blue rams it’s pretty important that the water is warm, clean and soft. They’re quite finicky and consistency is key. Bolivian rams are a bit more forgiving, I believe.

    Looks stunning @A new day

Good luck, hope the eggs hatch
You will probably pull some babies through if they hatch as the tank is densely planted
Cesar's little kribs spawned twice with discus in the tank and 8 or 9 survived every time hiding in the plants so lets keep fingers crossed

Thanks @MariaS yes fingers crossed. But all the apisto fry got eaten in Dec :( hopefully the rams are more successful in defending their offspring!

It is difficult to breed fish in a community tank. As I am finding out with my Tangs
But one or two per batch may survive. In a way, not a bad thing as you don’t want to be over run

Yep I’m not essentially a breeder, also... Have found my sweet spot in planted community tanks, I think?

Still fascinating to see breeding behaviour, and usually a sign that the fish are happy? Well livebearers will drop fry even under poor conditions, but don’t think it’s the case for dwarf cichlids?

Even if you not intentionally breeding its always awesome to have babies and watch the parents etc
Cesar's little kribs spawned a few times but mommy hid them so well that a couple pulled through with every spawn so if the tank is heavily planted, there is a chance some will survive

On a happier note, the ram eggs hatched somewhere in the last 2 hours
