Moved the Anubias in the middle (were getting too much light) to a shadier spot on the far right.

Tank is responding well to dosing Flourish Advance and Excel again (last 2 weeks or so).

Impatient for the bolbitis to grow out more and hide the filter box (right back corner).

Also struggling to get proper height with stems/ Val in the left back corner- this is where the circulation is quite strong (it bounces off there). Thinking I could perhaps do wood with epiphytes there?? I have pieces of leached mopane and once covered would hardly be noticeable...

 Thanks @Shabir it’s had its turn though. Get your tank into the comp! Doesn’t have to be planted, you know!

Lol @A new day my tanks not nearly ready for that. Still trying to get the rockwork I require. At the same time don't want to cause a change which will bring about aggression. The joys of keeping African cichlids lol

Added the stone, plus a crypt balancae and hygrophila costata - thanks again @Easy Vivarium !

Might look for some epiphytes (eg Anubias becketti from the 1,5m) or just see how it goes

Finally read through this thread right from the beginning. Quite a bit of interesting and good-to-know information in it.
I'm amazed at just how big the diamond tetras are!

How are the ram babies doing that you pulled from the tank?

I failed miserably with the ram babies unfortunately.
Yes the diamond tetras are as big as the ram male! They’re very peaceful with tank mates but unbelievably effective visual hunters - shrimp, fry, mosquito larvae- incredible to see how they dart up or down and get it every time! They don’t show up so well on pics but they’re super sparkly in real life

Flourish excel melts valisneria - they won't grow well as long as you keep dosing it.

What do you mean you failed? Did you lose them all?
