The pictures look good though :D

And your tank is sooooo nice!!! And all the fish seem very happy in their oasis!
This tank actually looks like one of the display tanks from one of the you tubers from your aquascaping inspiration thread :D

Thanks @TheGrissom the white clouds and danios will move to the river tank when the time comes. The aponogeton crispus and vallis too, probably.
Once they’ve moved, I might get some clown killis (this is my only tank with a lid), have you kept them before? I’d also love to give pearl gouramis another try...

I have kept clown killis. It was most unsuccessful. Got 8, within 2 weeks I was down to 1. That 1 lived about 18 months.

I really like your variety of plants. My Vallis has taken over my tank.

When I remove my internal sump, I think I'm going to try and get my hands on a few more varieties of plants and take out some Vallis.

They seem to be pretty sensitive.

Friends had the same experiences !

Oh dear, sorry. Do you have any idea what the issue could’ve been? My water is soft, that might help? I hear they can be tricky to feed too...

I think removing the internal sump will bring you lots of joy. I always thought an amazon sword and some crypts on the left side of your tank would look great...

Ok think I’ll leave clown killis for now, I’m far from an experienced fish keeper, so sensitive fish is not the way to go. Thanks for the heads up!

No idea. The tank was mature. Was using 75 % rain water mixed with tap water, left in a barrel for a week before WC. They were eating well. BBS, microworms and then various powdered flake food. I would just find a dead one every few days.

About 2 weeks ago I moved across the adult corys from the 44L, they’re very happy here. Very interesting is the size difference in the juvies- the largest ones are almost adult size but 2 stunted ones survive against all odds. The smallest one is probably only 2cm long max, seemingly in perfect health but tiny and they don’t seem to grow more. Even from a week or two old fry the size difference was enormous, I didn’t expect them to survive and an experienced breeder probably would’ve culled them. Anyway, the runts are pretty cute too :)

A lot of shade over the front of the tank at the moment due to the aponogeton and also some Ludwigia strands floating temporarily. But I’ve noticed the crypts and anubias seem to like the shade so might keep it so for the time being.

Awesome. Do your platies ever have fry? If so, I guess they are eaten?

Thanks! Yes they do have fry and I’ve given away 20 offspring already but the majority gets eaten very quickly I imagine. The other adults and even juveniles can sense when a female is about to give birth and stand by like jackals :(
