The top bracing must be at the top. You're not going to be happy with bracing somewhere in your view.

The bottom bracing must be on your bottom glass to be the most sufficient as shown on the photo

100% i know that I was just asking if the type of brace that is shown in my pic will be fine for the bottom and top of the tank. (Euro Bracing)

For the top it will be fine. Ant the same type bracing at the bottom except that you don't need the short piece in the middle. The two most important is the long pieces on the front and back to prevent the glass from bowing out and crack

Thanks stalker for your input. I will start building the tank piece by piece as my budget allows.

Glass became extremely expensive over the last 4 years.

Just remember that thick glass normally bow with a straight cut and you might end up battling to fit all pieces 100%

Well to me the tank is higher than normal and it will be 100% for what I want to use it for. Its only going to house 2 discus.

I always make sure the tank I must build is secure and save for any standard fish.

This is your tank. I've drawn it out to scale to the sizes.

Hello all, please help with one question. What silicones are safe with fish tanks?
    Brands and colours?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Oldhatnewtune ,

    Welcome to the forum

All our big tanks have been built using Den Braven silicone
Not sure if they have different colours though

@Oldhatnewtune , this is a very old thread...
Why don't you start a new thread and maybe introduce yourself, share what your plans are in more detail ( helps with giving advice) and share what you have now
Its always nice to hear what new mw members are up to and for you its also nice to go back on your own thread and view your progress over time.

Look forward to some pictures too

You MUST use only Den Braven AQUA for fish tanks. Also please - you cannot keep only 2 Discus together unless they are a pair and are in a breeding cube. Discus do not thrive with so few. The recommended minium is 6 fish together to form a shoal. You can get away with 4 -5 but 6 is better. Den Braven also have a black silicone if you want to use that .
