Sweeet man, you should rather have your bubble counte on the outside of the tank, I had mine just after my solenoid years ago could always check it nicely.
Think just for the heck of it I will probably also get myself a UV sterlizer anything to keep our fishes safe and happy. Please send me a pm for your contact so when my ships lands I can order one :) I was going to spend 2250 on my canister If I bough a cascade 1500 but now I am getting the dophin c1000 for R1600 so already saved the bucks to also get a UV sterilizer :)

The canister filter gets a basic clean about once a month.

do hydrogen peroxide treatment just to kill any if any green algae thats left that the eye cant see, buy 30% vol and put about 15ml per 100 ltr, in that amount it wont harm fish and it puts oxygen into the water which reduces algae anyway. i found a link that will explain everything in detail, just remember to stick to a lower dose of peroxide than recomended, i would say a third of recomended dose if you have real plants http://www.malawicichlidhomepage.com/aquainfo/algae_peroxide2.html

Thanks, but I don't put any chemicals into my tank apart from Prime to remove chlorine and chloramine.
Some aren't good for the plants, some aren't good for the fish, and some aren't good for the beneficial bacteria in the filter or substrate.

The pic doesn't do the tank justice.
    The water is crystal clear.
I can see the individual bubbles of the CO2 diffuser...

Yeah for sure hey, photos never does any tank justice, videos do sometimes give a person a clearer image of the actual tank.

    Thanks @MariaS.
I will give it another day or so to see if it clarifies any further, but the water is crystal clear already.
The UV Steriliser is definitely worth it.
36 hours from GREEN soup to crystal clear.

    It deffinetly is worth it

We also havent had any ich outbreaks and also find if the fish hurt themselves, the heal very quickly
Flash decided to try jump out the tank the other day after a moth and hurt its head against the slidders.
It healed in no time without adding anything to the water

    Nothing new yet.
Tank is crystal clear, and it is shocking to see how badly some of the plants have reacted to the loss of light.
The Rotala is basically just stalks, and the Alternanthera has lost about half its leaves.
Glosso has yellowed badly. The only plants that don't seem to have minded are the Anubia Nana.

I haven't been able to find any Bio-Vital, but will be visiting a LFS that apparently has some later this afternoon.

Nice man really chuffed for you, yeah can only imagine that the plants got a beating with loss of light they will bounce back again. My hygrophilla polysperma aslo had some stems melting for some reason it does happen sometimes after being planted for the first time the stronger stems will survive had this a few times before. Awesome please advise if you did get yourself some, I might go and get after work quickly I drive past Petmasters on my way home in the afternoons.
