Appel snail white foot falling off. Please help!!

Hi all

Have had my tank for 2 years and my apple snail for almost the whole period.

3 days ago he had retreated into his shell. This is not his normal behavior. Placed him in shallow plastic container in fishtank. And he has come out of his shell. His foot looks like its rotting away. White in colour. I am doing water changes regularly. He is eating but not as frequent. I have tried the internet. And it looks like it could be an infection.

I do not this his tank mates would have harmed him. The are cory cats, khuli loaches and shrimp.

Water parameters are stable and within range. Water is very soft, so i will get some cuttlefish to put into tank.

Please could someone give me suggestions as to what medication i can use on him. - please i am very attached to him. And what i have read seem to indicate that he will die if i do not do something about it.
Will paraguard / bio elite heal help- i have those at home.

Otherwise i will go and buy anything that will help.

Most meds kill snails anyway due to copper. Not sure if he can be saved if he does not heal himself.

Then again I know very little about snails.

I think as long as the meds have no copper, it's worth a try..

In my experience they don't live much longer than two years, so it may be old age... Which part is the white foot?
I have some Golden Apple Snails... If you are near Cape Town Central pop in sometime and I will give you a couple.
