Morning. I don't see any problem with it. Seems like a decent price. Please let us know how good they are once you receive them.

Well, the set isn't nearly as nicely made as the fakealot photos show, but it isn't terrible at all. It's claimed to be stainless steel, but I'm dubious since the tools are painted black (or perhaps powder coated - but if it is it's an extremely fine coating reminiscent of paint). It isn't parkerization or cold blueing - the mating surfaces of the cutting tools produce a very fine black residue where they meet.

The cutting edges of the scissors have a weird striated texture which give them a somewhat unpleasant crunchy feel when snipping - there isn't that precise snickety feel one would expect. The curved pair of scissors could use some tweaking with pliers, the intersection angle is too severe in my opinion.

The velvet pouch they come in is very nice. I think for R199 it's a good entry-purchase, but it remains to be seen how long they last. My gut feel is that riding 'em hard and putting 'em away wet would not be tolerated well.

Anyway how often does one need to use these tools. Not often, so you pays your money and you...

    Hi, OMG

I completely forgot about this thread.

    I bought these sets.

    https://www.takealot.com/5pcs-aquas...ium-plant-tool-fish-tank-plant-t/PLID94562044

The one is black and the other silver. The black one came in a pouch and the other in a nice case.

Both scissors did the job with no hassle. I liked the tweezers on the black set, I didn't have to squeeze as hard as I did for the silver.
( I am hoping that the black tweezers last longer, as I had a one that separated where they were glued together, due to the fact that
there is less pressure exerted on the glue, I could just be talking cr@p too).

The silver scissors had a very rounded tip, not sure why, but this would be good if kids are going to use them I guess.

Both scissors don't open as smoothly as I like, but they work and that's what matters

Overall I like the set, I gave the silver set to a friend's son. I will get feedback from him as well.

Looking back I should have gone for a silver set. The black tools just go missing in plain sight. I also don't know where the velvet pouch is :D

Hot garbage. Nearly three months to the day and the bent pair is kaput - the rear spot weld didn't like the flex and here we are. And of course now I can't find the straight pair - it's done a disappearing act.

I have to use the pair from my dissection kit but now I'm gonna be sticking my arm in like it's a cattle birth.

Oh and my arse is stainless steel.

Eish, I don't use mine as much, they still seem ok, LOL.

But this is exactly what I was afraid of, especially with the tweezers .

100%. The you-get-what-you-pay-for demon made its presence felt, and not unexpectedly.

I leave all my tools on top of the light, the heat helps dry them (but it might also accelerate any corrosion). I can't blame rust though - while it's there it's light and this case it's just a terminal case of cheap. Thankfully these should be fairly easy to repair but it's annoying to have to do so to begin with.

Thanks. I've added it to my cart. I ordered a pair of SS 48cm tweezers on temu and will receive them in the next couple of days. Will report back on those.

At this point, and considering how cheap they are on temu, I feel like ordering a containerful and scattering them about like confetti. My straight pair is still MIA
