Does anybody know something about assassin snails?

ive heard that some people say that they eat shrimps as well and other say it isn't possible since shrimps are to quick for them? any experience?

they help to control or clean up your snail problem? Do they realy clean up your snail problem?

does anybody maybe have assassin snails to sell?

From what I have read , they are capable of eating them , but shouldn't if they get enough other food! Not sure if I will take that chance? :blink1:

I have 4 assasins and 5 shrimps aswell as snails. Never noticed them attack the shrimps and yes they make a big difference to the snail population. I'm happy

Don't be afraid. There are some reports of eating shrimp, but never noticed one if mine doing so. If there are no snails available they''ll eat all protein available (dead shrimp possible).

They wont "target" fish or shrimp, will go for other snails as a main food source. When the pest snail population is eradicated they will eat fish food as well, if it has a high protein content (most usually do). Do note, that even tho the fish food will keep them alive, they will most likely not reproduce as a lack of a high protein food source isn't available

They will eat dead fish and shrimps tho as their bodies starts to breakdown...

I definitely need some to cut down on my snails, when the lights go off they appear big time. I had a few but Since feeding my discus more regular and with blood worms and shrimp they've multiplied drastically.

Maybe I should rather keep them to help cleaning up the extra food that the discus don't get to.

Pitty. I had to get rid of both my Zebra loaches. They are expert snail hunters but they also killer my 2 ottos, horseface and kuhli loach!! They have been gone for about 2 months now. No more deaths but I notice an increase in snails again. Been thinking about getting a clown loach.
