    Spectacular setup Nico...

Would like to know what your water parameters are as u seem to have it spot on...

    Any supplements/treatments to the water?

What are you feeding your beauties?

    Thanks

    Thank you Breado.

As far as water parameters are concerned consistency for me is key. PH is always at 7.2. I use tap water and we are lucky. Good quality and very consistant so far. Nitrates are kept well below the 20 mark which is fine for adult discus.

Three very large water changes are done per week. About 60 to 70 % minimum each time.

I do it on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday as I have no time during the week.

I run a sump with alot of bio filtration so the system is very stable.

Other than that I dose seachem flourish excel for some algae control, a local product called Scape complete and some time Scape potasium for plant growth and health.

I also add rooibos tea to get the black water effect as the wood stopped leaching, It is also a gental algaecide, fungiside and viral inhibitor.

As far as feeding is concerned I feed a veriety of foods which includes mussels, mysis, krill, salmon, a discus home made mix, benkers, tetra bits (pre soaked with vitamin supplement from Boyd enterprise) white mosquito larvae, hufa enriched brine shrimp and spirulina flakes.

    Hi Nick.

Thanks for the information- really helpful

I have 2 blue diamonds at the moment but contemplating setting up the 4ft that I originally got for cichlids, to rather be a cichlid tank.
