@rsa, the light was sent back to the distributor per Jungle Aquatics request. Recieved new light today and its just as bent as the last one. So yeah...

Was the light supposed to be flat because the arch looks like it was designed be that way. Might have been designed that way so that the self weight of the light can be transferred better to the end supports than of the light was just flat... Or it could just be bent.

That is supposed to be an Odyssey Dual 120, which is supposed to be flat.

I am sure there must be a few owners of this product on TASA that can shed some light?

The Odyssey lights I had in the past all had T5 fluorescent tubes.
The units were quite bulky to be able to house the tubes, reflectors and still keep the units cool.
I have no experience with the LED versions of their lights.

Doing some research, I found a video on Youtube, where it is mentioned that the 48" lights are bowed.
At about the 11:30 mark on the video.

How long is the warranty on it? Run it and see if you pick up any heat hot spots. Was that packaging damaged?

@f-fish, no the packaging was not damaged, was wrapped rather well. We have been running it and havent noticed any hot spots..yet. I'll have to check on the warranty as its already been returned once. Im surprised @JungleAquatics hasn't said anything yet...

On TASA .... no been years since we have seen good participation from any sponsor .. do not hold your breath.

Weird thing it seems rather hard to find the importer of the lights to phone them directly and ask what is expected of the light.

Have you tried calling or e-mailing them?

I enquired about a product a few weeks ago via e-mail and they were (relatively) quick to respond.

I know this probably isnt what you wanna hear but maybe drop it by weight? half a brick should cause it to bow under the weight and hopefully get you closer to horizontal?
