Cherry shrimp are very easy to breed - you just need male and female shrimps, stable water conditions and patience. The guppies may snack on them occasionally but if there are lots of hiding spaces they should be fine.

Keep your guppies reasonably fed and they shouldn't eat too many shrimps. I keep shrimp and guppies together in a tank and the shrimp just chill in the moss. I feed flakes daily and I have yet to see any guppies go for the shrimp.
