So which plant would you guys recommend to catch loads of flies? Summer time they really are a plague

I don’t think a carnivorous plant will wipe out out a flying insect plague.
The pitcher plants tend to catch more flies than others.

Outdoors - Sarracenia (larger species) catch a lot of flies.
And indoors - Nepenthes (need high humidity)

A few years ago I was lucky to do a tour of the Reserve Collection at Kew
    Nepenthes bicalcarata

This is my all time favourite.
    Nepenthes robcantleyi.
I have a small plant of this. About 10cm across. It has not produced any pitchers yet.

The son has become absolutely obsessed with carnivorous plants on YouTube. We saw pitcher plants at the plant nursery a week or two ago. Perhaps I should go back, take a photo of the species name and you guys could give input please? I’ve never kept any.

Also, update on Rachel o’Leary’s bog garden

    Sure thing.

My sundews have mostly died back. Moved them to deeper pots, hope they'll recover

So we brought home our new baby :)

    - would rain water work?

    - if kept in this position it’ll get morning sun only. I could move it to the only windowsill that gets full sun (son’s bedroom). I could also put it in bright ambient light with no direct sun. What would you suggest?

    - should we cut away the dead and dying pitchers or leave them on?

    Thanks in advance!

    @A new day

    Very nice

    Definitely use rain water.
It will be ok in your son’s bedroom. But due to lack of humidity may lose the pitchers.
A bathroom or kitchen may be a better idea.
