Released some live mosquito larvae, oh boy it’s chaos and mayhem, what a feeding frenzy  The larvae ‘s instinct is to go hide at the bottom, which is exactly where the cory babies like them. The minute they swim up, the minnow juvies get them.

Won’t have to feed this tank for days

Gave some to the 180L too but they didn’t last 2 seconds.

Largely thanks to advice from forum members 14 of the original 27 cory babies made it. They’re growing up fast, as are the minnow juvies. This tank just feasted on frozen daphnia :)

Also, the tank reset was a wonderful thing! Nitrates stay low now (around 10). Haven’t had to do another syphon

Uhm...think I might be heading towards pea soup in the tank. First time I’ve had it, the other tanks are much more heavily planted. Think as a first line of defense I’ll do a big wc and up the planting?

Yes luckily, thanks. 50% wc and filter clean seems to have done the job. Perhaps it wasn’t pea soup but other suspended particles?

Moved one of the cory juvies into the 180L today. Struggled to catch the others, even after I removed the driftwood., they’re fast and they’re onto me :) Thinking I’ll see how he does in a week or so and then move the rest across also?

Time to free up the QT :) Have moved all but 3 of the minnows to the 65L (can’t catch them either).

Had to take out pretty much all the plants to catch the cories and remaining minnows :)

Corys are all in the 180L now and enjoying their new digs. Using the 65L now to grow out minnows from the pond.

QT is now available to boost school sizes first of ottos and later rummy noses for the 180L.

And so the grow out projects ends
