    Was at my lfs this weekend and they had this fantastic looking Dat.
    Was £325 (R6,000 approx). I know they are very difficult to come by. But it's still an insane amount of money imo.

    I mean, it's a hell of a find. On top of being hard to come by, the shop probably knows this too and put up the price knowing that someone out there will be willing to pay.

    Still recall that this is one of the more salt tolerant species, being found in the lower reaches of rivers. Wonder if this is a necessity for long-term health, and if anyone out there would be willing to accommodate that.

    Considering the cost, not sure I would want to start experimenting with water parameters !

    Stunning fish but is a bit finicky and apparently doesn't transport very well which could be a contributing factor to the price and rarity

    There were a few that came into the country about a month or two ago, at R8000.00!!!
