Designerguppy Challenge 2: The other blonde

Setup: Tub outside with some floating plants and water lilies.

Breeding stock:

Male:


Description: With a fast glance this mail just looks like a halfblack male but if you keep your eye on him you will quickly see the blues it hide. Very similar to the blue moscow guppies. Also extremely tricky to capture on film. He is not hte biggest males but have a very nice shape tail.

What you like about it: The blues and tail shape
Where it came from: Bred from some of my own fish.


Female 1:


Description:Two blonde females with nice clear tails.
What you like about it: Not showing to much red or yellow in their fins.
Where it came from: Lennard

Goals: Breed a blonde guppy that is not either red or yellow.

 

Saw three fry swimming around today, dont think its from my male because its to early, must be the last from @lennard male.

 

Hope they are the last ones! The females do seem to be thin!

 

I think it is because its only like two or three.

 

I love the male, interesting colouration. Those females look nice too. Would love to see what their fry will look like

Tubs are great. I need some more plants in myne. I added the 2 lilly leaves that i got from you. Cant find any pond plants in klerksdorp or potch.

@Vis, those blue ones are beautiful

 

By my calculations my first fry from this pair is due any time now.

 

OK my calculations were spot on Came home to fry.

Expected too see some blonde fry and some grey but these fry are kind of weird. They look like they are blonde and grey...

Caught the fry and in a tank they look all blonde. 15 in total.

 

Ok so it seems like its not my year. We went away for a week and I asked somebody to look after my fish.
When we came back I found all my breeding stock dead, including fry.

 

Going away is a big problem everywhere! The fish in the outside tubs and ponds one can easily leave to their own devices for more than a week - but the ones in clean tanks are still a problem.
