I upgraded my phone, and decided to test the camera.
The new cameras are so much better than the camera on the older phone.

O yes the phone camera. When do we not use it. I currently have the S7 and very happy with the camera on it. Not sure what the specs are though.12281beebcb65e64be85423983b6778d.jpg

If your phone has trouble focusing on the fish, download open camera from the app store. It allows you to lock the focus. I then focus on something bright at a set distance and then move the phone closer or father away from the fish till it's clear.

I still prefer using my DSLR (Canon)
I believe the latest models have wireless, so makes downloading the photos even easier

For some reason I cannot get my Canon to focus past the glass. Its a SX 510 (Its a bridge camera - in between a compact and full DSLR ) I must admit I use it on Auto so not sure if I need to tweek some settings. It is an older model however takes brilliant photos that I have used for many Hi-Res applications.

The last time I was on holiday and started to run out of space I hooked it up to my iPad via wifi. Was not a good experience. You need to use the Canon app - you can only transfer 50 photos at a time. You need to chose the 50 photos manually each time - when you get to the next 50 you want to transfer you need to basically remember the photo you stopped at last time and start you selection of the next 50 - as you can image doing this with 100s or 1000s of photos is a problem as you need to make sure you don't miss any out as when you delete them from the camera itself (to make the additional space available) if you missed a photo or more its gone forever.

Not sure it there is a newer improved app or simpler method now (maybe on the pc with some Canon software) - I used this method sometime ago...

I am awaiting delivery of a mini tripod for my phone.
Hopefully by keeping the camera still I can get some better pics.

I have an app whereby I can run my phone camera from my watch, which means I don't have to touch the phone itself.
We'll see how effective it is.

If all else fails, I will at least be able to take expensive selfies
