    Hello fellow fish Keepers.

I have a fresh water community tank and my two Bristol nose Plecostomos have laid eggs under a piece of driftwood.

Can anybody advise on the best way forward if I want to keep them.

Should I take the eggs out , leave them with Mom and Dad soforths

    Thanks Guys

Keeping eggs/small fry in a community tank is a challenge. Most usually get eaten. But a few lucky ones may survive.

If you have a small tank with a sponge filter, airstone and heater, you could move the eggs over to there

    Congrats David.

My male pleco guarded the eggs until they become free swimming. He did not eat or move away and fanned the eggs on a consistent basis.

I did not want to move the eggs as the male protected them well!

Good luck and give an update!

I would say leave the eggs as the Male will look after them since the eggs is under the wood and other fish will be chased away by the male.

Or if you have egg tumbler to place the egg in.

I saw someone on the forum selling a tumbler - unless it was an old post :(
