I have @Rory's permission to post this thread on behalf of a friend of mine.

Wilfred Barnard, is a well known breeder of killifish. Due to unforeseen circumstances he needs to close down his whole breeding setup and sell off all his stock.

He has a lot of strains available with some very rare varieties. Please do not respond unless you are really committed to carry on with the work that he has started in continuing his breeding lines.
I cannot tell you how much he is charging yet. This thread is to first see who is genuinely interested.

The catch is that the fish would need to be collected so I need a volunteer (or two) who is willing to collect on behalf of people in Jhb and Pta areas. Wilfred stays in Stilfontein which is just past Potch and is about a 2 hour drive away from Jhb. The plus side for whoever collects is that they will have first choice and even see his other fish and equipment that he needs to sell (Endlers, guppies, etc)

Below is some of the killi strains that are available:

Austrolebias Affinis Tacuarembo Ruta 5 399km Terra Tipico (Aka-starry night)
    Fundulopanchax Gadneri Nigerianus Lokoja
    ,Fundulopanchax Scheeli,
    Fundulopanchax Gardneri Jos plateau,
    Fundulopachax Misaje Blue,
    Fundulopanchax Gardneri Lafia gold,
Fundulopanchax Gardneri Innidere Gold (very Rare!!!!)

And a lot of other species! Nothos,Simpsonichtyts, Austrolebias,Lineatus(red form-first in SA)
    Aphyosemion Ogoense,
    Aphyosemion Australe Orange!
    Nothobranchius Eggers,
N Lucuis Ruhoi river TZN 09/10
    Epiplatys Dageti Monroviae
    Simps Constanciae BSJ
    Panchypanchax ect ect ect

This is not even a complete list of what he has so whoever goes to collect will be in for a real treat and will be able to see the complete stock available.

Wilfred has collection codes for most of the killi strains.

Guys, if no one is able to collect and you want some of these fish then send me a PM. I will give you his cell number.

He is willing to send counter to counter and he has also let me know that there are eggs available that he can post.

I will PM you his number. It would be best to phone him.

I do not have a complete list, only what I have posted already but there must be more as he has over 60 tanks.

OK I'm being a total enabler here... but look up the temperature, lighting and filtration requirements for a couple of those species :dancing:

I REALLY want to do this. Plotting things as I type...

Here's an idea ... I wouldn't mind taking the drive one Saturday or Sunday if someone comes along for company and to help me get lost and all the people who are taking fish contribute a little towards petrol.

@Irma - by when does he have to have sold everything? How much time do we have?

Any idea what guppies he has? I'm looking for some ATFG's and Endlers. I would also be willing to tag along for the drive

That would be awesome! I would not mind contributing to the petrol.
I am not sure how much time he has as it keeps changing but this morning he said that he has around 2 months.
The best would be to phone him and ask him as he also works really weird shifts at the mine.

I can give you a trio or two as these youngsters are not fully coloured up and I do not know if they will be totally red when they are mature.
