    Hi all

Hope someone can help me I've got a duck pond wanting to put some fish in there, its only 2 ducks.

    So my questions

What do I do to get the water clear currently I only have a fountain pump running the little fountain.

What fish can I put with the ducks? Its n 600l duck pond. Its not heated so I was thinking some goldfish?

    What do you guys think?

Get a proper Canister with a UV filter made for ponds.

You could keep about 7 fancy goldfish in there if you have adequite filtration,a simple filter can be made from a bucket wth a lidDo not put algeaclear in the pond if you do not have proper filtration and don't do regular waterchanges, as the algea gets killed and rots on the bottom making alll soryts of problems(ammonium,H2S etc)Learned that lesson the hard way!

Have got a 500l pond an started out with some 4 comets, they seem to rather enjoy the green water and especially the lillies. Now a year later I have about 11 and the next batch of eggs are laid. So in terms of green water, wont sugfest realy getting rid of it. Only got a pond pump with sponge pre filter running throu a little feature and keeping water airated. In winter the water temp dropped down to around 9 at one time. Just turn off the pump to keep the water from colling further at the bottom

I agree with this. I installed one on my pond. It has a filter and a UV light together. the pond is always spotless

People in the UK use barley straw (available in most lfs) to clear algae from their ponds.
Not quite sure how it works, but it does.
