Guppy Challenge Entry: MadHatter

For this Challenge i will be breeding 2 pairs of guppies with 2 different outcomes.

firstly: Pair1

male 1:A1

Description: Feeder guppy.
What you like about it: Nice intence red color, love yellow marking
Where it came from: LPS
What traits would you like to breed forward: Color and Fin Size, take patterns to base of tail

Female 1:B1

Description: Feeder guppy
What you like about it: Nice bright Red color, nice big size
Where it came from: LPS
What traits would you like to breed forward: Color

Goal: improve color and patterns, also increase fin size and length

Here is also my breeding setup that i will fix up when i return after 8 Jan.

Really like that female 1:B2.
These should give some interesting fry.

Both the pairs have potential - good choices.

Keeping the pairs alone in tanks, I do find that the fry is eaten more easily - do create enough hiding place for them.

 

still need 1 more pair, but didnt see any at the LPS. ill go to some others in next week and see if they dont have anything im looking for.

im really having a gut feel that my first pair might possibly breed true?

ill see what happens, female is prehit so ill give it 2-3 drops and then if she doesnt drop true ill know for sure.

probably the most expensive guppies ive ever owned im my life:laugh:

 

lennard, all my females get moved to marked tubs around a week before they drop with either floating plants or plastic plants that i add. when the female drops the last fry she gets moved back to the breeding tank. so its not really too big of a concern breeding them like this, this is just a temp tank they are in, im going to put in deviders ext in those 3 big tanks for the breeding pairs and for raising the fry ill raise them in tubs that will be in a heated tank, to get as fast as possible growth, usually get them to breeding size in 2 or so months depending on heat and water changes.

 

You can make a thread for each entry, does not need to be in one thread, will easier to follow.

okay so my female might pop while i am on holiday. wich sucks. i will raise any of the fry that survive, and see what comes out. hoping for atleast another batch before ill be breeding back ( any of the fry i raise from the first 2 projects if they look the same ill be using them as 2 other projects to see results, and might breed their offspring back to the origional project generations )

 

hi guys, withdrawing from my comp as my guppies were some of the fish that are gone, too late to start something new now.

 

A real pity, I was looking forward to see the final results.

 

MIGHT rejoin this but ill see lol. have to see how well they reproduce first ( need a month or so )
