I would suggest you redo the entire tank, and add some form of padding under the tank.
The padding is there to prevent any problems similar to the one you have had due to contraction and expansion of the stand, which will cause stress to the glass.
Glass is very rigid, and although it can bend to a certain extent over the flat surface, it is less forgiving when there is uneven pressure asserted from the bottom, when a tank has been filled.
Polystyrene or foam weather strips will do the trick.

I prefer the foam weather strips, and apply it to all metal surfaces that may come into contact with the tank, to ensure that any possible flexing is eliminated.
It is available at most hardware stores.

Guys said they can't redo the tank, it did have polystyrene but was quite a thin layer for a tank this size.

My platy jumped out of the tank a while ago she already started to dry the out when I found her but she was still alive. I threw her back into the tank and at first she just kept swimming in circles. After a few days she just lay on the bottom and couldn't seem to stay floating. She lost a lot of weight during her recovery because she wasn't eating but it's been about two months now and has recovered completely and she's eating well again. I didn't think she was going to survive but she did.

There is no such thing as they can not redo the tank, I had the same problem with my 406L Discus tank which I did myself and tons of patients. A little fishing braid to get panels loose and some endless cleaning of glass and then reassemble. If you were based in PE I would assist without a problem.

@Ladysphinx yeah fish are tough as nails, a loooong time ago I had a tank full of convicts. One jumped out while I was cleaning and I stepped on him and he made a crunching and a pffffft sound. I put him back and he also swam around in circles and spend a few days on the bottom too. He made a full recovery. When Bass fishing you sometimes catch the same fish again because we practice catch and release. They sometimes swallow the hooks and you just cut your braid and leave it. It rusts out eventually as I've caught the same fish again and the hook was gone. Sometimes the hook is still there and you can break it with your hand its so brittle. Tough as nails or hooks in this case haha.

I agree with @Blade - it's nonsense, no such thing as not being able to redo the tank. I would definitely redo the tank and keep it as a spare or you can sell it if you already have other spare tanks and don't want to keep it. I've redone a tank myself before and no issues so far.

Must admit that sounds strange that they cant re do it
Only thing I can think of is that a lot of the people that work for them might be going away fo the festive season so they cant re do it now in a hurry??

I would keep it, and have it redone in time. No reason to waste all that glass, unless some or all of it is not in a good condition. Additional bracing will help. Maybe, if you are so worried about it, you can fill it to one third, and create a paludarium. That way, the overall loading will be substantially less.

yes, how it works is you put a claim in, say it broke eider to an accident or something/3rd party...Insurance will ask for a quote, get a quote from pet store for new tank, submit the claim & bobs your uncle.
