I'm watching this thread - how far did you get with the L46's? It's an old thread so not sure if this guy is still around How are the fish now? I have also bought quite a lot L46 recently so want to find out what you did. I have also over the years lost dogs that I have truly loved - i feel for you - he IS part of your family after all - very sorry to hear - take care man !!!

Thanks for all the best wishes everyone , he was family and left a huge hole in our lives . Time will make it easier to deal with .

The 5 x L46 arrive from Indonesia in about 3 weeks so doesnt leave me much time to get the tank setup. The fx6 has been running for about a year so not to stressed about getting the tank cycled. What I need to do in finalize the build and execute it

I have decided to go for a fantasy scape . There will be a large waterfall on the one side with 3 floating islands . The 4ft will only be half filled with water . Due to the L46 requirements I am going to create a fast flow river scape under the water with river sand and rocks the above the water I want to do 3 floating islands to create 3 jungle scapes . The 3 islands and waterfall will be connected by bridges I will make from cherry wood. The bridges will be there to keep all the floating islands in place .
I have done my first prototype island , the prototype was just made as a proof of concept . The final islands will be made with white cement and river sand with pigment to make them look more like rocks islands. I wanted to make a hollow section in the island to hold substrate for plants

Awesome concept. Just make sure you soak them good before adding them to the aquarium. Just in case the cement leaches nasties into the water.

I am wanting to get the fate rockwork done in the next few days to give it 2 weeks to leach. All the cement will do is make the ph skyrocket so the cement will need 2 weeks to stabilize
