No.. no next tank at this stage... still ample space for now
Mom is a mini marble x b/d so they wont get very big either.

Not sure if we will keep any or not.. time will tell.
For now we just holding thumbs that all goes well

It depends on the ray's size.. age... species..

Motoros once adults are well known to be able to have up to 13 pups and sometimes more...I saw a post of 17 the other day but average probably about 8 or 9
Black species once mature, can also have big litters of 6...7...although from what I see they seem to have smaller litters in general

Mom, from what im told, is a mini marble X B/D and dad is the same
She is quite young and her first time.. it was actually very unexpected so we not expecting more than maybe 2 or 3 pups... at the very most 4 but I doubt it very much unless she carries longer.
We had not really noticed much breeding behaviour and there was not a mark on her but we got home to a slightly murky tank and she still had the sperm plug attached so we knew that all going well she would be pregnant

Now I guess its... patiently wait and hope for the best...

We very excited... but nervous at same time!!

 

That sounds about right haha, I think you'll be fine though, you know your fish very well. When will the buns come out?

 

Hahaha .. I remember a very stressed Daddy when your babies were on the way!!

Gestation is usually around 100 days .... between 3 to 4 months although they say some females can go as long as 6 months and more... then i will be totally stressed out!!

If she plays nice and by the book... from the 25th November.... round about second week in March...

 

And so..... Last Friday evening around 12 Cesar walked into 3 little buns flapping around the tank

Pictures were taken on Friday and are not very good as they were put into their little floating basket

Babies started eating yesterday and Saturday all going well, will move to their grow out tank
We not sure yet how many boys and girls as we didnt want to move them around too much and stress them out
