How long for a fry to reach adulthood

Yesterday I read a claim that a Blue-eyed rainbowfish (Pseudomugil Gertrudae) can go from an egg to an adult in 60 days. This seems dubious to me so I googled, and it seems that many fish can become adults quite quickly. I know some killifish do this, but they are a short-lived species. In my experience (using many species of nano fish), it's usually about a month before the fry looks like a small fish, then at 4 months they start looking like the adults and at 6 months they are more or less fully grown. I am sure this can be sped up by raising the fry in warmer water (increased metabolism), feeding many times per day (I do 3 times - in the morning before work, when I get home and about 30 minutes before lights out), and then increased water changes but this cannot be good for the fish. Interested in other aquarist opinions/experiences.

 

I have bred N.Eggersi killifish before. About a month from egg to adult, then about 6 months from adult to death.
