    Welcome to TASA @Shlumpy

You are one of many that for whatever reasons in life, is out of the hobby for a while.. but somehow somewhere along the line... we all land up coming back.

You will always find help and advice from our members.
All the best with your new tank

    Hi all,

Also been out of the hobby 15 or so years, and maybe a year back in it I'm a fanatic again haha. Been reading on here a while but figured I'd join and get involved a bit more.

Have a 130 litre Boyu setup. Introduced 2 x GIANT Electric Blue rams yesterday (+- 85mm in length, non long-fin), from Sam's Aquarium in Cape Town. As a big fan of rams I almost can't believe my eyes- they're just huge. I think they're imported from a Texan breeder who seems to specialise in these unusually large specimens.
I'd say head out there if you are looking for some and in the CT area. May well be sold out though (even at R295 each). As always with these fish, perfect water parameters required ahead of introduction, especially with such rare finds.

The other couple rams in there were visibly stunned to see the new arrivals, and their social dynamics so far are mostly separate - its almost like a different species given they are 1/3rd the size. Fascinating nonetheless.

    Have a good weekend!

    Cheers

Hi @Cale24 and welcome to TASA

As we always say, once the bug is with you.. you eventually always go back
Rams are stunning fish and we do have excellent locally bred varieties

@Cale24 , as a new member, go to the introduction forum and start a new thread as the original poster and introduce yourself and post some pictures of your set up and babies
You will get more response that way as some members won't realize you introducing yourself, if you post on someone else's introduction.

You can then also keep updating your thread as you go along, which will record everything related to your tank which, is nice as you can go back months or years later and see what you have done.. succeeded in on battled with over time
