I have a Juwel Rio 125 aquarium in good condition that is up for sale. There are a few very minor signs of use, but still pretty neat and tidy. It comes with all the original bits and pieces, except I replaced the original Juwel heater. In addition, it has two pieces of driftwood, some dwarf anubias, some attached and some loose. I have given it a basic clean, but it needs a proper scrub down. There is also about 12 L of fluorite gravel, and loads of bits and pieces - food, air pumps, brine shrimp hatching kit etc.

Reason for selling: We are emigrating. The tank can't go with.

Location: Hartbeespoort. Buyer has to fetch.

Price: R2500 for everything. I have a CO2 regulator, two ISTA cylinders and two 24oz paintball cylinders with adapters that I'll be selling separately.

Separate from the aquarium and above, I have the following CO2 kit. I am open to offers. Ideally, I want to sell the whole kit as a set. R2500 for all. Regulator (single gauge) on its own is R800. ISTA cylinders R500 empty, R600 full, both plus kit for R1000. Paintball canisters, extender and adapters R1000 (one cylinder is full). Can drop off in Pta or Sandton/Randburg within the next week, or Bloemfontein next weekend (This does not apply to the aquarium!).

what would your price be for one cylinder and the regulator(with solenoid) if that combo is an option?

Hi Jandré, I am not keen to be stuck with loose bits. I would have to sell the adapter kit with the cylinder, otherwise you won't be able to use it, so that would leave me with a cylinder to sell that no-one without a paintball gun would buy. If you are prepared to take both cylinders and the adapters, then I'll give you those plus the regulator for R1700. That is a great price considering what I paid. The paintball canisters are easy to get filled - most security stores and tactical sport outlets can fill it for you. I paid R2/oz, i.e. R48 to get these filled, and they lasted me on average 1,5-2 months each on a 100 L tank. So I had to do maybe 4 refills per year.

Hi Jandré, in that case, R500 if it's the empty one, and R600 if it's the full one. The regulator on its own is R800, and includes the solenoid. However, note that the Ista cylinders have their own connection, which does not fit this regulator. You'd have to get an adapter if you want to use them together, but I do not have one so can't help with that.

so the Ista cylinder's connection is only the needle valve, no solenoid/gauge?
And can't fill them with a standard paintball connection?

Hi Jandré, I couldn't find an adaptor that would work for that. The ISTA thread and seat is proprietary, or at best something that is not used in SA. But what I can suggest is that if you can find the thread designation, you can maybe get a good turner to make you an adapter. I just felt it wasn't worth the hassle, and reverted to the paintball canisters instead, which are much bigger and more convenient than the ISTA ones.

Okay guys, I am bumping this one last time. I have had no firm offers, so I am putting the stuff on the sidewalk this Saturday, before I fly out of the country the next day. Someone is going to score big - it could be you!

Best offer before Saturday 10AM wins. I have an offer from a guy to take it for R2500 on the 30th of June, but then I have to dismantle it and ask family to store it, plus the payment is an issue. This kit is worth WAY more than R2500, so come-on guys, see what you can do. For clarity, the CO2 kit is not included, as I have decided to give that away to a family member.
