My curviceps spawned on Sunday afternoon.

They decided a large Amazon Sword leaf is the best place for the eggs.

Today is day 3 so I'm expecting to see some wrigglers today.
Normally they move them to a shallow pit they dig in the gravel, but last night they started covering the eggs with substrate.

The pic is pretty bad but you'll get the Idea

Hopefully most of this batch will survive, time will tell
    Regards

Thanks guys,The fry started swimming yesterday, they've had their first batch of BBS last night and some more this morning. Here are some pictures, they are at the back of the tank, if you look closely you'll see some bits of the parents sticking out in the pics. The parents are pitch black with some blue spots and fin edges.Mom moving them around[IMG]Moms head visible[IMG][IMG]We'll see how many survive out of this batch, but these little curviceps are awesome parents. There is about a 30cm radius around the fry which is patrolled like a no fly zone by the parents.

They are awesome little fish Broder, perfect community cichlids, they still get aggro when spawning and raising fry but nothing serious.

    Thanks for the comments guys.

Sadly, the fry are gone, I think the 12 Rummy nose tetras and 6 dwarf rainbow fish might have something to do with the disappearance LOL

I did however manage to take better pictures of the parents:
    Female

    Male

    The pair, female in front

Male flexing his muscles to the female, then playing rugby with some food, you can see they are already turning to the darker spawn colors so I'm expecting a new batch of eggs soon. These guys change colors in a flash, these pictures where taken about a minute apart.
