    Hi all.

    I am fairly new to this whole fish keeping idea, but do love to have a nice glass box filled with water and some nano fish. Getting my daughter involved in the hobby as she is the one whom convinced me to setup a tank. I use to keep a few fish but very rusty.

    Location = Durban, Amanzimtoti.
    Favorites = Corydoras (any type)
    Daughter Fav = Betta's

    Looking forward to learning loads and enjoying something calming during these crazy times.

    So here is my tank.

    Juwel Trigon 350L

    Running 3.5kg of biomedia (ceramic balls) and 3 different sponge densities with some filter floss. Need to add my Purigen to the filter as my water is a bit white/cloudy.

    Tank is dirted with a fine black gravel cap. Used organic seeding soil (R70.00) and so far it is pretty decent. Did take a good 3 weeks to clear up and also added some red potting clay to the soil before capping it. Total cost R200.00 for gravel, R70.00 soil and R50.00 for clay. Not bad for the size tank if you ask me.

    Have a few plants in it but need to add some more. All plants are showing great growth new leafs on all plants but most had some serious melt back at the beginning.

    Stock:
    5 Panda Corydoras
    10 Rummy red nose Tetras
    20 Neon Tetras
    5 Kuhli loaches
    1 Rainbow Shark

    Looks nice, maybe add some more driftwood coming to the front, if there is more cover in the open space the fish should be more active in the front... and more, many more cories ;)

    Very nice @RenOBlade :thumbup:

    What @GaryG said :) if you could gradually add more hardscape and plants towards the front. With a tank that size you could also pull off those huge background plants such as aponogeton crispus, the big swords etc.

    Following along!

    Amazing the growth in 3 weeks. Nice to take pictures and look at it, if you look at it daily you don't truly appreciate the growth speed.

    Hi, and welcome to TASA.
    That tank looks great as is.

    Kuhli loaches are shy little creatures, and you will have a tough time seeing them during the day.
    They tend to hide quite a lot, and only come out when the lank lighting dims, or is switched off.
    You can plan the tank with that in mind.
    Mine used to love hiding out in Bolbitis attached to a big piece of driftwood.

    You have 2 of my 2 favourite corydora species in your tank.
    The ones you have missing are the Julii Corydora, also sometimes called the Leopard Cory.

    I have found that if Kuhlis are the only bottom feeder then they arent shy at all. As soon as another species is added the kuhlis go into hiding.

    Yeah I do see 1 or 2 swiming around at night and early mornings before the lights come on. Now if that is the same two each morning? That is a whole different question.
