Lighting for 4ft planted tank

Hi everyone.

Apologies if there is a thread on this. My non-millenial skills could not locate it...

I have a medium planted 4ft tank. My research suggests 1W LED per gallon. My tank is 66 gallons. I am open to non-LED options. But my budget doesn't allow zetlights...

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

See my attached pic of the tank for reference etc. As you can see it is still a work in progress. The tank is placed in a converted fireplace, with chimney. Right now I am borrowing hubby's 20W LED spotlight worklight.

Suggestions on lighting?

I would do with 3 or 4 10W led flood lights, look at the 6500K to 8000K range as this is ideal for plants higher than 8000K your starting get to marine spec and then algae of not starts forming.

Attached is the Glisten series led one can see the main is 6500K

 

I run a dual T5 6500 K bulb setup on my 4ft. Works well. If you want to brighten it up you can always add reflectors although these are a bit pricey.

 

Get yourself 2 of hubby's spotlights and hang them about 20 cm above water. Alternatively get an 50 watt led floodlight.
