Nice. I usually jack up the ISO so that I can shoot around f8-11. Usually I'm just lazy and shoot with flash at f18-22. Your lens has a nice bokeh.

Yeah I try keep my ISO lower than 1000 due to the noise... my camera needs a serious service and it's old so it doesn't do well with the ISO set any higher, although I've started playing with the noise reduction in camera raw, pushing it to its limits, and it's not as bad as it was in previous versions. LOL I'm just as lazy and forget to make use of my flash. I have an off camera flash which I still want to try using above the tank.

Thanks, I'm really impressed with the lens. I was using the Sigma DG macro telephoto lens previously and the quality of a proper macro lens in comparison is mind blowing.

Well done on the very nice photos Lindy :) I got my new DSLR with a 60mm Macro lens last night so I am going to be taking some close-ups of my inmates and post them in my other thread. The photos will probably suck as I have not done this (macro photography) in almost 5 years!

That's what his fins look like. Really awesome looking, like he's part crown tail. :)

Oh okay. lol Im still learning. Very nice fish you have there. Was just wondering because according to some research ive done a wild back stated that if a bettas fins are turning black on the edges it could be fin rot. My bad. Could you tell me if that information is true or if "The internet Lied!!!"

I think the fins become frayed or have chunks eroded out of them, with white fungal growth on the edges? Not too sure either though, as I've never actually seen it before. Let's wait for someone with firsthand experience to give us the fin facts.

I recently got a betta in a not so kif state, his fins went black all along the edges, and it was definitely fin rot - the Internet told me so , but I did see them shrinking, and the black spreading (the outer 2 millimeters or so were black along all the edges).. So I've been watching it closely, and transparent edges show new growth.. So to be honest, when I first saw the photos of your betta's fins, I thought of fin rot, but if it were fin rot it would be more significant and a darker band along more length, well, in my very limited experience you clearly take very good care of your fish, so if it were fin rot, I know you'd be acting on it.. You have beautiful fish and beautiful photos!

I can see why one would think it is find rot. I've never experienced it before though. I bought this little guy like this last year. His fins are still the same today as they were back then.
