    So on the weekend, I went to the London Aquarium.
    Haven't been there in years, and it has been revamped and improved since I was last there.

    The main focus I would say is marine, but there is a very good fresh water section.

    I was talking to one of the people who works there, and she was telling me that they get offered a huge amount of tankbusters that people buy at the lfs as small fish, don't do the research and before they know it, they have monsters that kill their other fish and they then realise they can't keep them.
    They have 2 display tanks with these. One with Black Pacu, and Red Tailed Cats. And another an assortment of Tinfoil Barbs, Giant Gouramis, Clown Knife Fish, Giraffe Cats etc

    The public was asked not to use flashes, and condtions for photography were difficult, but this gives you an idea.

    @top dog,
    They did have a big tank with some Vieja in it. I didn't post a photo of it.

    @Pieter Swart,
    From what I remember, they have extended the displays quite a bit since I was last there. I think I went in 2000.
    Do the photos look familiar?
    From what I remember wasn't a penguin display, and they have a whole section on Arctic fish which I don't seem to remember seeing.

    @Reedfish - One of the guys that was involved in the planted piranha tank is a member on APSA. If you'd looked at the signage you would have seen Table Mountain (The Planted Tank) :amuse:

    @Reedfish. I have a tropical fish book first published in the early 1950. That person started Mclynns aquarium in Surrey that years. Do you know of such aquarium?? interesting about the backpage is that the writer says that during the second worldwar a wingcommander of the RAF brought him fish from all over of the world after they went on mission. Just think about that....no customs, no transport cost :bigsmile:

    Awesome photos. The Cape Town Aquarium needs an awesome FW section like that.

    @f-fish,
    The plants in the Piranha tank have grown a lot since your visit.
    There were few of the smaller Tetras too. :sick:

    @neilgouws,

    I agree.
    The Cape Town aquarium has some fantastic displays of local fish.
    But I would also like to see some nice tropical set ups.

    @Nick
    I have just done a quick Google search and can only find one broken link.
    I guess this aquarium doesn't exist anymore.

    The Heathrow airport's international departure hall had a few big tanks with plecostomus in it around 2001
