looking for Live Plants for fishtanks

Hi. I am a total newbie where it comes to fishtanks. I am looking for some live plants that are easy to grow and don't cost a lot of money. Can any one suggest any plants I can get? I live in Welkom, Free State.

 

Could you post a pic of the tank you currently have, as well as mention the type of fish you have.
What type of substrate do you have int the tank?
Some fish eat plants, some don't.
Some plants grow too big for the size tank you want to grow them in.

There are loads of plants available, at fairly reasonable prices, or even give-aways every now and again.

 

Hey Chrystal, try some Java Moss. Best plant to begin with. Do not need much light. Will live without light but will not grow. Just attach it to anything. Be careful for pleco's tough... mine had a feast on plants I bought. Where are you planning on buying your plants from? I have some contacts if you want. PM me for the details.
