So after a couple of years keeping Frontosa , I decided to part with my beloved fish - all off course due to some issues & other stuff , I decided to do some research , and decided to buy myself two Golden Jardini's , off course each fish will have it's own tank , and I am going to keep it that way... Display tank 1800x600x660 Garage tank 1700x600x800 I bought them small , around 15cm... I hope to see them settle in nicely Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L31 using Tapatalk
This is Jar 1 , he is in my Display tank... he settled in nicely , bought him yesterday , little bit shy & little bit skittish - but nothing serious Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L31 using Tapatalk
This is Jar 2 , bought him 2 days ago , little bit worried about him because he is very skittish & very shy... you don't really see him on the top of the tank , always at the bottom half...so ya , bit worried Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L31 using Tapatalk
Temperature on both tanks are around 25/26 degrees , and ph around 7.6... Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L31 using Tapatalk
I have made a Diy food recipe for them which consists of Carrots , baby spinach , salmon , hake , and prawn - all diced up & frozen... Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L31 using Tapatalk
Jar 1 seems to have taken nicely to the diy food , but Jar 2 has not eaten anything as yet - doesn't want diy food , frozen bloodworm , meal worm or frozen brineshrimp, still worried because he is very skittish , and mostly at the bottom of the tank , he rairly comes to the top... I personally think that is over priced for Jar 2 he looks like a normal silver one but Jar 1 looks amazing and is worth the price you payed
no they both exactly the same , it's just I can't get a decent picture of Jar 2 , here he was at wazeers Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L31 using Tapatalk
Ohhh ok I understand it's hard to take a pic of a moving fish They both look really cool might get one some day Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
nice they are great fish very glad to see that each one has it own tank think jar 2 probably just got imported and was in a bag with 3 other jardinis and they tore each other up best thing to get jardini eating are crickets feed him up fat for a week then starve him onto diy food or high quality pellets
Congratulations!!! Stunning little guys I wouldnt worry too much with the skitishness for now Some aros are calm from the start, some are very skittish but do settle in time Some eat straight away like mine did, Cesar's little one has takken nearly 3 weeks to start eating and would dart away as soon as you went near so dont stress.. now she comes for her food They aslo sometimes go to the bottom and feel their way around As long as there is no signs of distress there should not be a cause for concern Good luck with the new kids and hope you enjoy them!
Thank you , I did now feed Jar 1 again on the diy food , it's taking nicely to it... I peaked at Jar 2 through the open door , and he was hovering in the top left corner of the tank , as soon as he saw me - he quickly made his way off to the other side lol... I will try feeding crickets tomorrow or so Sent from my HUAWEI VNS-L31 using Tapatalk
They both exactly same... I think its just the light effect on the tanks. We had actually seen them last week and they very nice There is really only one type of jardini, I think the lights, food etc all enhance the different hues they reflect Once they start eating properly and putting on growth they will be stunning
If he is skitish, give him crickets because they float at the top and dont go off so if you stand back she is tempted to take them Give her some "space" to adjust
Congrats on your aro's. Very nice. One thing the guys do with small skittish arowanas is to drop the water level and raise it slowly over a week or two.
