Very nice fish.
I am keen to get one, but I need a tank with a bigger footprint.

I agree @Cesar its not worth putting ur ray through the stress and all
an all an all
@Reedfish... that's a stunning display tank...
Those black stingrays with the spots is crazy expensive. But looks awesome
Aww man how awesome! :love:
Agreed @Ryno the black diamond rays are stunning...
Yup, sure is.
The fish shop is very far from me (300km round trip), otherwise I would go there more often.
Good evening everyone thought i would give a quick update onRay.
So.... as far as putting Ray in the 2.2m tank went, wellplans changed as the bug to get a female and get them to have pups has bitten. Soplan will be to set up two tanks by the end of the year, will be the 3.3m andthen a cube tank for the rays. So ordered the female and after a long wait shearrived on Monday this week. So Rose and Ray are now together in there grow outtank and seem to be very happy together.
As for Ray, he has been doing really well, has grown between1 to 1,5cm in disk size and doubled in girth. Is very active in the morning andevenings, mid day he stays burrowed. As I’m sure you have noticed, Thanks tomom (Marias) and my fiancé they have been named Rose and Ray.
Just as a matter of interest as to why I never had the barb cut, as you can see in the pic they grow new barbs.
I have seen one at Ultimate Aquatics in Port Elizabeth. Female, if my guess is correct. Hope a creature so lovely gets a decent home.
Agreed 100%. so sad to see monster fish being sold to people who are going to keep them in small tanks with out the correct knowledge of what they are buying or being sold...
What is the max size that they grow?
@fishanatic... they say anything from 50cm to 76cm... if I talk to the guys on monsterfishkeepers, most of them say 50cm to 60cm is the most common size..
How true this is, I don't know. 30-38cm?
Very Very awesome!
