I don't want to be an expert fishkeeper. I enjoy what I have. I don't have the time to keep high maintenance fish and plants.

Plants aren't high maintenance! Get some java ferns, anubias and watch them grow! (Slowly)

Just like fish, there are easy and difficult plants and you just add some fertilizers now and again and easy :)

Fish that are smaller than a match box most of the time and that school well or cover the entire tank in activity. Working fish that have a purpose are also cool to watch. Plants ... anything that grows slowly that can transition well or are truly aquatic.

I have done some research and I think that what I am leaning towards the most at this point is some sort of Anubias. Biggest reason being that its one of the only plants that Goldfish wont eat.

Anubias is pretty easy to grow, just very slow. Java fern could be okay too!

Te research suggests that it is possible but Anubias is much safer because there is still a high chance that Ferns will get eaten
