    Hi @MariaS - maybe a silly question. There seem to be quite a few Arowana in the country. Has nobody been able to breed any ( not that I know what's involved in breeding them I have to admit)
    Please post a pic of what she looks like now!

    @eros111

    No... to the best of my knowledge, no one has bred them in tanks anywhere in the world
    There are a few records of going as far as laying eggs but then nothing happens
    They have to be bred in huge ponds/ dams
    Same goes for the silver aro although there is documented proof of one gentleman on MFK that had one spawn in a tank a few years ago but never happened again

    I see Dorry Pets have received Silver Arowanas.
    I assume this is a juvenile, as it looks skinny and underfed.
    It is part of a consignment from Indonesia.

    Sorry @Pezulu

    Had a bit of a hectic weekend catching up now

    I agree, looks very skinny and underfed...
    From the picture probably more a baby than juvenile.
    I see they come in by the dozen as they all over the LFS around here too and some are like max 10cm....

    They often and most likely that's how they kept there too, in tanks with lots of them and i dont think they get their fair share of food which is sad but i guess that's mass breeding
    The saddest part for me is that they grow into stunning Dragons but you dont see many post if any of who has healthy beautiful adults and i look at these tanks full of babies and wonder what is going to happen to them

    They usually fast fish before they ship them to reduce waste produced in their bag. But at that size it looks like all it has consumes was its egg sack.
    Had 3 at work that came it that size, luckily they took to pellets quickly so them gain some wait was easy.
