Thanks, have you ever tried penguin tetras with angels?

Nope. But they seem to grow to safe size. Had platies in at a time. Most of the fry survived. Some got eaten by both platies and angels.

No I have not used LED lights before @GregM but I would like. To when my buget allows for it. Although they are not as expensive as they used to be

I have a tank size similar to yours. 4 Angels, 1 breeding pair keeps the other 2 angels at bay, most of the time! When they are breeding they get a lot more aggressive
Many tetras, corri's, banjo. whiptail, BN pleco

All I can say is, quarantine your fish before introducing it to your tank. Had a bad experience with Neon Tetra disease some time ago

    Thanks for all the info
I was thinking to get rams, rummynose tetras, corries harlequin rasboras and maybe some zebra loaches

I don't have much experience with Angels but I think they might cause your Rams problems should you get them. It is my understanding that they can be quite aggro..(angels that is)

Rams are more sensitive to water parameters. Can never get them to survive longer than 6 months. I had a school in at a time. They are more territorial than angels. Even when raised from small. They use to chase all other fish around the tank.

I have kept rams before with some success but not angels, I defer to others who I know have had them. We don't seem to get very strong strains of rams locally but either way they are super sensitive as you rightly point out. Just figure the two very different cichlid species may clash.

Can happen yes. But have seen some guys keeping them together with success. But then only one gender of angel and more female rams. Also introduce them into Aquarium at the same time

Apparently Bolivian rams are less sensitive to water parameters, I've done quite a bit of reading that confirms this so I'm very keen to get hold of a pair, but really battling to find in Durban.
