It seems you have been busy.
It's great watching a tank start from a concept, to taking form, and finally able to house its new inhabitants.

Those Arowana of yours are stunning.

    Thanks @Pezulu

Must say James makes it look lie a piece of cake to build.... with me nagging him all the time checking everything
Bless his soul he always comes back to build when we need

Its going take a while to get all the inhabitants in as its got to stand for a month and with Christmas around the corner and all the family things that go on around this time of the year
But @Cesar will now slowly start with all the pipe work etc..

I cant move my big girls across until they have their pups end December early January as the risk of them aborting from stress of being netted and moved is not worth taking a chance so we not rushing

Cesar also wants to drill the tank and do the pipping for automatic water changes so that i just open tap and it drains and then the water will come straight from the cold and hot water and fill the tank at the opening of the taps to make it easy for me

But we will slowly get there

Yes.... i love my Arowana.. not just for her beauty but her character and interaction with us.. they truly amazing

For now there is quite a lot of work to be done while the tank dries

Im busy laying the pipe around the house to bring the water into the tanks as, while doing this for this tank, we doing my other tank too....
Painting all the PVC pipe so it can dry so long

There are a number of PFS bags to be washed which has to be really well washed for the rays so that takes time

With Christmas around the corner and my place always being where everyone ends up there wont be time for that but once this is all up and running I would like to give it a try
    I have got 2 x 2ft and a 4ft tanks standing empty so thats not a problem

Such an exciting thread to follow!! Can't wait to see it once it's all filled up!! I'm sure you're even more excited for that though!

Hahha @T. Guppy ... right now.. more frustrated and impatient than excited!!

Staring at it every day and not being able to fill up is torture..

But on the positive side, some work has been done so long...

Spent the last couple days washiiiiiiing pool filter sand..... and that's in.

Yesterday and today I washed ceramics until i had no nails left and i still have to wash another 8 bags as each compartment takes 2 x 25kg ceramic bags!!
Got couple bags lava rock as well and that's a bigger pain to wash

I managed to fit a 25kg bag of ceramics spread out between my other sumps to also seed so long which i was happy with

I have laid the cold and hot water pipes for water changes for this tank and Polkadot's present tank, @Cesar just needs to drill hole in my wall to bring the pipes in and finish that off
@Cesar has done most of the pipe work for the sump but needs to be painted before its put in place
    So.... slowly getting there..
    Will post some pictures tomorrow

25 KG bags of ceramics, where did you buy those??

Have only seen 5 Kg bags.

Also nice that you're making progress but I think its time you bought a pressure washer will make this much faster

Why are you painting the sump piping? you don't like the look of white PVC

A friend of ours got 25kg bags from Koi place but must be honest didnt ask him the name but i will find out as I need some more

Im not painting the sump piping as that is in the overflow and under the tank and not really visible
Im painting the pipe that goes in the tank at the back against the back glass (black background) which is the pipe for automatic water changes so... i will open tap/ball valve and the tank will drain. if i leave it white it will stick out like a sore thumb against the black background
there will be two incoming pipes with hot and cold water which will then fill up for me

Hey look on the bright side some of us still carry buckets.

Like me  a total of approximately 10x 20L per week for all the tanks. It gets old I can't imagine doing that on a 4000 liter

Eish.. trust me, I have done my fair share of buckets for years!!
But old age catches up and the buckets are a no no now especially on this volume
I either find an easier way or I have to give up

I can't wait to see how it all turns out! Even my partner who is not on the forum is invested in your build.

Apparently its bad for our backs so I'm sure it will catch up, but its worth it for the fish

I wanted to add a 25mm bulkhead for draining but i can't find a ball valve for it which means I can't use it. So I'd like to see how you did it please
