Pretty bad growth on swordtail fry with First Bites. Nearly double the growth rate in a batch raised in an infusoria rich tank. I like the ease of the powder, but am going to use as a supplement to feeding rather than a staple.

@SalmonAfrica How did you you get your water to be infousoria rich? I understand that it comes from decaying plant matter but i'm also making the assumption that it wouldnt be the best environment for fish long term?

You maintain a culture in a jar, or similar container.
And then using a dropper, add the water from the culture to the fry tank two or three times a day.

@Reedfish Is there any chance of the culture going bad?

Yes, I guess it can go bad. One of the common methods suggested is to use a banana skin as a food source. I guess over time it can foul the water.
But it's very easy to start a new one every so often

Yup, that's pretty much it, but what really helps is the continuous slow drip plus a well-established tank, with live plants growing and dying. It's not great long-term, but you only really need it for the early stages of fish development, and can move onto other (larger) stuff pretty soon.

It can go bad, yes, so trying to time the culture at its optimal level to when the fry will access the resource is pretty handy.

Yup, so you only need it for a short while.
