good looking fish .. they should be ok in the tank, do not add redtail sharks https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-tailed_black_shark even if the shape looks the same they have a very different nature.

Got red tail in my 1.2m all alone and i would prefer it that way. Used to be with cichlids. His bulky and about 8cm

Rescape with change of substrate.
Getting ready for foreground plants as well as some other goodies.

Yes in the bag both substrate i bought look black.
But compare to the bigger granules you can actually see the difference.
Luckily i cover the most part with smaller granules.. the black has a sparkle which i don't like.

In the second picture you can actually see the black compare to the brown

 

I think it is coming along just stunningly ... keep it up.

Looking very good. Like the color of the new substrate. If your still looking for schooling fish look at the dwarf neon rainbows, Melanotaenia praecox. Stunning little fish. Grows to about 5cm. Males have red fins and females orange/yellow.
