Planaria do not always have a triangular head, and they are also able to "retract" the head into the body.
In the link @Hendre posted you can see the classic triangular head.
Very often the head is not distinctive though. In the photograph posted in Wikipedia there is no triangular head...

As for the biofilm on the surface, it could have a number of causes.
Overfeeding may be one of them, but is by no means conclusive.
Even the oil naturally found on your skin can cause that.

A surface skimmer works well to remove the protein film.
A very small mechanical filter like the Cascade 170 works very well.
Turn it upside down, with the inlet breaking the surface of the water, and the outlet lower down in the tank.
Replace the tiny carbon cartridge with filter floss, and see the difference in a few hours.
The filter is tiny, measuring about 10cm x 3cm.
    They cost about R150.

Thanks alot. Also @Hendre that showed me the trick with the internal filter. Going to use it after wc.

I guess i am overfeeding since planaria is also caused by overfeeding. Il start feeding every 2nd or 3rd day.

Yeah they like the led flood light.
Thanks Marias. Hopefully i see better survival rate now that i have a heater. Never knew the tank was 11 degrees.
Shoout out to @f-fish for the plants and @BoelderBeestie for the shrimps.

I have seen some shrimplets when the tank was in the living room but doesn't look like they last very long

Main thing the baby shrimp need is food, I let algae grow on all glass but the front panel and leave any decaying plants for the shrimp to munch on :)

I have an idea. You probably saw that any new pipes, airlines or suction cups grow a bio film layer very quickly, like in a few days. Try putting an off cut in somewhere to slime up for the babas. You can take it out again when the tank grows bio film elsewhere later.

I replaced a thermometer a while back and they hoarded the suction cup. Worth a try.

I put the thermometer from planted tank to check the temp. The shrimps and snails were on it.

Going to buy new one and put it in. Also try the air line

Congrats on the babies. My red ones are at around 1cm now. When you're in the area again come grab one or two. Or three.
