Thought i would post a quirky story seems that i haven't posted in a while.
When i got my Ancistrus a few months ago i bought Sera catfish chips to feed it but i thought that most would go to waste as how often would this small algae eater find one of those small brown chips in my well planted tank. I was then surprised at how quickly it sensed it (smell or taste???) when you dropped it close by and would soon pounce on it.
Fast forward a few month and now as soon as I open the lid to feed the other fish he comes charging straight to the front and center of the tank waiting for his chip. He seems to get quite impatient with me if I take too long and chases other fish away from his spot.
Anyone else seen this from their Ancistrus as I never expected this behavior from an algae eating fish.
