In my fry tank I have Limo black tint that they use on cars. It's really dark black.

You can use plastic dip paint as well which also can be peeled off. I used art paper cut to size and stuck on with tape for a while and that looked okay.

I also used a random weird looking background with random fish pictures and stuff. I took matte black spray paint and sprayed it on and then used tape to stick it.

I currently have on my main tank the styrofoam wall paper which you get in 10cm by 20cm and got them all stuck into one piece and stuck on the outside of my tank.

    And it looks like this.

    Possibilities are. Endless tbh

I should maybe check with some signage places here is JHB then. They normally do stuff like that for shop fronts and stuff?

    Hello Happy People,

Filled the tank on Sunday. No leaks.....yay!
Added some water from the other tank, and some stones etc to start the process.
Put in 2 small snails today. Any other things i can do while I wait please?
How long must I wait for till it is safe to move them?

As for the water outlet at the top of the tank, which direction must i point it into to set up a good current flow that circulates around the tank please?
I have tried it facing the length of the tank, slightly pointing towards the bac and it seems to give good circulation
I am now trying it facing the length of the tank, slightly facing the front, and will check later how it is flowing?
Ii has a slit above the outlet hole that also sprays water, must this point in the same direction or opposite?

Looking great. Love to see if when the fish move in.

I have my output of my cannister the same way you have yours in pic 1 and it does the job for me.

Seachem Stability for 8 days will help get the cycle going. When you use Stability you can also move a few fish in (as long as they’re not sensitive species, and only a few at a time).

I really like it. But started thinking about what @Shabir said about there being only one "territory" behind the rocks.
And realized that 2 of them were being bullied quite bad, so I had to change it to have more distinct territories
And knew I had to change it

I had done the done the Seachem Stability treatment and ha moved them over slowly, and they seemed very happy.
The bullying stopped, but the one became so bad they bit it on the fins etc, so it is now in the sump tank and still very scared.

I created little caves at every section for them which they really enjoy

I also tried adding some dwarf grass, so I took a filter bag, added dome planting substrate

    IMG_7494.JPG

and glued some grass to it to make it a bit stronger
